A SANDWICH shop in Barrow wants to change its opening hours in a bid to meet demand.
Dodona House Ltd has submitted an application to Westmorland and Furness Council to change the opening hours of Dodona Sandwich Bar, on Dalton Road, as its opening hours are restricted by planning conditions.

The premises currently cannot be open between 6pm and 8am the following day, however the sandwich bar wants to change this condition, so the shop can open from 10am to 10pm each day.
A statement submitted with the application says: “Since opening it has become apparent that morning trade has not met the anticipated levels and customer comments have indicated that evening opening could be popular.”
The sandwich shop started operating in March 2024 and according to planning documents its current use has not drawn ‘any complaints’ from neighbouring premises.
This application is currently undergoing public consultation.
