ENQUIRIES are being carried out after reports of anti-social behaviour by a group of youths at a town's library.
The library at Dalton Community Centre had to close early after youths ran riot - playing music, banging or closing doors, running, shouting, kicking a ball, fighting, locking people in the toilets and vaping.
Police have confirmed they are investigating after officers received a report on Thursday, August 29, of anti-social behaviour, conducted by two boys and two girls at Dalton Library at Dalton Community on the evening of Wednesday, August 28.
The police have confirmed that they have spoken with representatives from the library and are currently carrying out enquiries.

"Officers are aware of the impact anti-social behaviour can have," said a spokesperson for Cumbria Police.
After the incident was reported, Ms Baker said she was glad that the children and their families were 'taking it seriously'.
"We have made contact with the parents. The parents of the children have come forward to apologise," she said.
"We have had amazing support from the community.
"The children I have spoken to were really apologetic about what happened. They are making amends."
Manager Nichola Baker said she wants children to be aware that the library is a 'community space for everyone'.
"They need to be mindful of their behaviour. You have vulnerable people who use the centre and we want them to continue to feel comfortable and safe," she said.
"Please speak to your children and reiterate that if they want to use the centre they need to show respect."
Reports included upturning book displays, verbal aggression, intimidating behaviour and one incident involving throwing fire extinguishers.
Such behaviour caused distress and disruption for both library customers and staff, said Val Robinson, chair of Dalton Community Centre at the time of the incident.
Dalton Community Centre will be open as usual from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
