An ‘established’ outdoor adventure specialist business in a ‘beautiful’ area of Cumbria is for sale.
Keswick Extreme was established in 2013 and has offered a wide range of exciting activities including ghyll scrambling, climbing and paddle boarding for many years.
As the current owner plans to retire, the business is offered for sale, presenting an ‘excellent’ opportunity for a new owner to take it ‘to the next level’.
Jason O'Rourke has been working in the industry for 37 years and is selling the business to go travelling. He is looking to set off across the country with his 13 year old dog, and spend a year visiting areas of the UK he hasn't been to yet.
Jason plans to take his travel abroad, heading to Montenegro, Albania and Croatia, spending a couple of years in Italy before coming back to the Lake District.
The sale is being marketed by Blacks Business Brokers and is listed with an asking price of £129,950.
Trading solidly since opening and boasting an ‘excellent reputation’ plus ‘superb’ reviews, the business would be ideally suited to a hands-on owner.

The business has become ‘very well known’ and has a ‘strong’ base of regular customers as well as a comprehensive website and almost 10,000 followers across social media.
Keswick Extreme enjoys a prominent trading position, operating from Unit 3 on Southey Hill Industrial Estate.
This ‘spacious’ property includes a number of large equipment storage areas, a mezzanine floor fitted with seating area, changing rooms and a drying room.
An ‘extensive’ range of specialist equipment is also included in the sale.
The unit is ‘fully equipped and presented nicely’ and benefits from large branding and signage as well as free parking.
It is ‘well linked’ and shares the area with neighbouring businesses and independent retailers, while a number of attractions can be found nearby.

As well as stunning sites such as Bassenthwaite Lake and Friars Crag, there are many campsites, hotels, pubs, restaurants and local public transport links close by.
Jason has loved working as an outdoor adventure specialist, he said: "Everyday is different, we live in a beautiful area of the world. I'm lucky to call the Lake District my office."
Blacks Business Brokers said there is ‘huge’ scope for growth which could be developed by offering options to school groups, scout groups, sport clubs, military groups and others.
The business is currently part way through a six-year lease which began in 2022 and has two clients in full time employment.
Blacks Business Brokers said it needs someone who could push the business forward and build upon the solid and impressive trading foundations.
Jason would like to see someone take over the business and carry on offering adventures into the Lake District, he said ideally someone young and local with background knowledge of the area.
The annual turnover is listed as £181,777 and early viewings are ‘strongly’ advised.
