A COUPLE ended their 'perfect' wedding day at the local pub for 'well deserved' pints.

William Robert Anderson, a 31-year-old IT professional, tied the knot to Elizabeth Megan Davis (now Anderson), a 30-year-old chiropractic student.

The couple met on Tinder around six years ago whilst Elizabeth was working in Birmingham and Will was based in Coventry.

"We both just felt completely at home in each other's presence and really enjoyed spending time together," said Elizabeth.

They got engaged in November 2023 on the Tongariro crossing in New Zealand. Will managed to find a quiet spot near the top of the mountain to get down on one knee.

On August 21 they got married at Lindeth Howe with 15 family members present.

"Will has practically grown up in the Lake District, coming on many family holidays here and in recent years we have both shared fond memories in the local area bringing our two dogs, Crash and Luna," said Elizabeth.

"We completely fell in love with the setting at Lindeth Howe in Bowness and we just knew that it would be perfect for our smaller non-traditional style wedding.

"The service done by our celebrant was so uplifting and the speeches from both bride and groom brought a lot of tears and memories shared.

"Tiree (photographer) took us down to a Jetty on Windermere and Nigel our dog walker followed with the dogs. It was a complete highlight for us. Although the weather was less than perfect, we had so much fun taking photos and just enjoying the scenery around us. Tiree was great at directing us to get some fab shots. The dogs were then taken back with Nigel for a well deserved afternoon nap.

"Some games were played, inside Lindeth Howe due to the weather, and we carried on chatting and drinking into the evening. We were picked up again by our lovely taxi company where we headed back in to Ambleside to get changed and head to the local pub for a couple of well deserved pints. It was honestly the perfect day for us - completely relaxed and we enjoyed every moment of it."

For their honeymoon, their main plan is to travel to Japan next year for a few weeks as it has been on their bucket list for a while.

The couple, from Warwick, would like to thank the bride's mum Andrea, who did all the cake and floral decorations for the day with flowers from Lily Lou of Ambleside, photographer Tiree Dawson, their dog walkers and carers - Nigel, Tamsin and their team at Dapper Dog services, Liz and the team at Lindeth Howe and their families for 'battling wind and rain' to join them on their special day.
