A LAKE District road is closed due to a 'suspected' damaged culvert.
Westmorland and Furness Council said Under Loughrigg Lane in Ambleside is closed after flooding was detected today, August 29.
A spokesperson for the council said: "Our crews have attended and have jetted the gulley on numerous occasions however this has been unable to clear due to suspected damage that will require further investigation and works when the water level lowers.
"We appreciate that this closure will cause an inconvenience but this is in place for your safety. Please do not attempt to drive through, it is deeper than it looks.
"Thank you to all road users who have reported flooding on Under Loughrigg Lane."
