Police officers in Barrow have sent out a warning to any would-be criminals after making multiple arrests.

On Wednesday, August 28, the Barrow Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) confirmed that seven arrests were made last week, largely relating to charges involving Class A drugs.

The NPT worked alongside the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Serious Organised Crime Unit.

A spokesperson from the Barrow NPT commented: "These people were outsmarted, arrested, got a broken front door and their cars seized.

"Anyone reading this and thinking 'you didn't get me' - we're coming."

Across last week, the NPT's collaboration with wider police bodies resulted in a wide range of items being taken off the street including a 'knuckle duster' and various amounts of banned substances.

As a result, seven people were arrested on multiple charges:

  • A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

  • A 68-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug, public disorder and harassment.

  • An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

  • A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.

  • A 27-year old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

  • A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and a modern day slavery offence.

  • A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

This comes in the wake of a recent crackdown on crime in Barrow, particularly in the Hindpool area, which involved 25 stop searches being carried out last week.
