Barrow salon to close next week with building on the market

Jules Hair and Beauty announced last Thursday they would be closing their doors after nearly two decades of business from their shop on Rawlinson Street.

Whilst the shop itself is closing, the team do not plan to stop anytime soon as they get ready to join the Paul French Salon on Rakesmoor Lane.

Julia Byrne, the owner of Jules Hair and Beauty, said: "We have been open 19 years which I am very proud of but all good things must come to an end and can't last forever.

"Paul has a lovely spacious salon just up from the hospital where he has room for us all to go so we can stay together - so nothing will change, just the location."

Customers were encouraged to get in touch with their stylist before the salon's closure on Tuesday, September 3 to arrange appointments at the new base.

The building has since been put up for sale, with a current asking price of £150,000.

The three-storey property boasts two floors that have been used for the business, with the top floor serving as a flat containing a lounge, a bedroom, and a shower room.

The current commercial sections of the building come with wash facilities, a kitchenette, a spiral staircase leading to the first floor, beautician rooms and a cloakroom.

In the listing, Ross Estate Agencies stated that the site would suit a 'variety of buyers', whether they wish to set up a business of their own or take it on as a landlord.

"So here's to the next chapter."
