Electricity North West are working to restore power to more than a hundred homes in Barrow.
A power cut was first reported at 10:14am on Tuesday August 27, 115 properties in Roosecote, Barrow are affected.
Electricity North West are currently on site and investigating the issue, while the estimated time of restoration is ‘under review’.
The energy supplier said the power cut has been caused by an unexpected incident with the underground cable that provides electricity.
They advise: “With underground power cuts, we may need to dig to repair the cable and this can sometime extend the length of time you are without power.”
