A team of firefighters in south Cumbria have thanked the local community for making a recent event a 'great' success.
Ambleside Fire Station hosted its latest open day on Sunday, August 25 to make the most of the Bank Holiday weekend and lauded the exceptional turnout they were met with.
The event, which ran from 11am to 3pm, was a chance for residents to meet with firefighters and learn what it takes to be a first responder in the Lake District.
Alongside various displays which allowed families to get stuck in, there were cakes and refreshments, a raffle, a tombola, and extra entertainment for children.
Visitors also got to tour the station, view a wide range of appliances used in emergencies, and - for a lucky few - try out the equipment for themselves.
