A business owner in south Cumbria has made it into the 'Hall of Fame' of the national beauty industry.

Lianne Wilkes, from Askam-in-Furness, picked up the trophy for the UK Hair and Beauty Awards Choice of the Year 2024 earlier this week.

Lianne, a former manager at Aldi, currently runs LW Beauty from her home and has tasted a great deal of success since setting up the business in September 2022.

Having attended the national awards in April last year, Lianne won third place for Best Gel Nails in the North West, and has now gone one step further this time around.

She said: "I can't express what it means to be chosen for such a special award and to officially be a part of the Hair and Beauty Awards (HBA) Hall of Fame.

"Thank you so much to HBA, all my family, friends and amazing clients who support me and my little business, I appreciate you all so, so much.

"I can't wait to receive my award and I'm so grateful to be chosen as there's so many amazing people in the hair and beauty community."

Lianne is the first person to be entered into the Hall of Fame nationwide, meaning the recognition is even more special.

The awards stated that she had been given this honour for 'showing outstanding support and dedication within the HBA community'.

Lianne got involved in the industry after doing her own nails for five years, ultimately deciding to get a lash care qualification in 2022.

Whilst LW Beauty is still home-based for the time being, Lianne has spoken about her desire to join a salon or open up one of her own.

But, with this latest dose of success, she is safe in the knowledge that she is heading in the right direction with her reputation cemented forever in the new Hall of Fame.
