The chief executive of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) is stepping down from his role at the end of November.
Daren Mochrie joined NWAS in April 2019 and has since made 'significant' improvements in patient care and staff welfare.
Mr Mochrie said: "It has been a privilege to lead NWAS and serve the communities of the North West.
"I’m so proud of everyone who works and volunteers for NWAS and all they do, day in day out.
“I will leave with mixed emotions, but it feels like the right time to go and explore new opportunities for myself and my family and to leave NWAS in the best possible shape.”
Salman Desai, the deputy chief executive, will act as interim chief executive while a recruitment process begins.
