THE burnt-out shell of a car found on Cliffe Lane in Barrow is believed to be the remains of a vehicle that was stolen from an address a day earlier.
Cumbria Police were called at 12.40pm on August 15 to the report of a burglary at a property on Westmorland Street, just over a mile away from Cliffe Lane.
It is reported between 9.30pm on 14 August and 12.30pm on 15 August a set of car keys and cash had been taken from inside the property and the vehicle - a Peugeot e-2008 - was taken from the driveway.
At 1.40am on 16 August, officers received a report from the fire service of a vehicle fire on Cliffe Lane believed to be the stolen Peugeot e-2008.
