The Millom School community is celebrating the results of its latest cohort of GCSE students who its says have been 'rewarded' with great results.

It says the results represent five years of hard work for the students and will allow them to progress onto their first-choice destinations - including sixth form study and local apprenticeships.

Headteacher Matt Savidge said: "Congratulations to all of our students on their results today. I am so proud of our students and the commitment and effort they have shown, and I am delighted for them that they have been rewarded with such good results.

"I look forward to seeing many of our students return to continue their studies with us at Millom School Sixth Form in September."

Top attaining students include Amelia Wisniewska, Charlotte Whyte, Tahlia Cummings, Joshua Taylor, Murin Birks, Kiana Crawford, Isabella Atkinson, Elijah Raven, Jack Sibbald and Lee Herriman.

These students achieved a staggering 25 top grades (GCSE grade 9-7 or equivalent) between them

Joshua Taylor, one of the top-performing students, said: "I’m really happy with my results, especially my maths grade. I am looking forward to continuing my education at Millom School.”

(Image: Millom School) Joshua plans to study physics, maths and IT. Amelia is also planning to take A-levels at Millom School Sixth Form, playing to her strengths in science and geography. Charlotte has secured an apprenticeship in finance with Morgan Sindall.

Donna Burgess, Director of Learning and Standards for Key Stage 4, added: "It was evident early on with this cohort that they had a willingness to achieve.

"Over the last two years they have shown dedication and taken responsibility for their studies.

"I am delighted that their hard work has paid off. The GCSE results are absolutely brilliant and I am extremely proud of the students.

"They have shown that hard work and taking on board advice really does pay off.
