The Care Quality Commission has published the results of its latest inspection of Cavendish Dental Practice in Barrow.

It was found to have met all regulations across the categories judged which included safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

The CQC, an independent regulator of health and social care in England, visited the practice on August 6.

Results of the latest inspection, published on August 15, judged the practice to be in line with current guidance.

The CQC found systems to manage risks, procedures reflecting current legislation, as well as effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Inspectors said patients were treated with dignity and respect and could access care, support and treatment when required.

The establishment, on Cavendish Street, is run by Patel and Bharucha and provides both NHS and private dental care and treatment to adults and children.

At the time of assessment, the report details that the dental team included three dentists, four qualified dental nurses, three trainee dental nurses, a receptionist and was operating under registered practice manager Zeyn Bharucha.

As well as talking to members of staff, the inspectors looked at patient feedback and spoke to a number of clients.

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team, and the care provided, they also commented positively on the standards of cleanliness.

Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.

The report said patients are given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs and are involved in decisions about their care.
