The 'longest swim in England' is returning to the Lake District later this month.
Organised by Chillswim, the annual event is taking place on Saturday, August 31, giving people the 'unique' chance to attempt to cover the full 11-mile length of Windermere.
Beginning in Ambleside, there will be seven Start Waves at staggered times throughout the morning based on average mile pace so that everyone involved can have the best possible experience.
Through the early stages, participants will tackle the route along with other swimmers at a similar level as themselves.
However, as the event progresses, the waves will start to merge, meaning entrants can swim freely and unhindered at their own pace if they feel able to push themselves to a new limit.
It is a wetsuit-optional event, which means that some people will be experiencing the full force of Windermere's icy waters on the day.
There are still places available and you can sign up by visiting the website here.
