A FERRY is operating at reduced times due to staffing shortages.
Windermere Ferry announced that they are operating at a reduced timetable due to staff.
The service will now operate condensed hours until further notice.
A spokesperson for Windermere Ferry said: "Unfortunately, despite successful recruitment drives, unforeseen circumstances have prevented new crew members from joining us, resulting in repeated job advertising and staffing shortages.
"We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause and we are working hard to resume our normal summer timetable by the August Bank Holiday Weekend."
The operating times, based on current weather conditions, are:
Saturday 17 August and Sunday 18 August
- 8.30am – First Sailing from Ferry Nab
- 8.40am – First sailing from Ferry House
- 5.50pm – Last sailing from Ferry Nab
- 6pm – Last sailing from Ferry House
Monday 26 to Friday 30 August:
- 7.50am - First Sailing from Ferry Nab
- 8am – First sailing from Ferry House
- 10.10am – 10:40 – staff break
- 5.50pm – Last sailing from Ferry Nab
- 6pm – Last sailing from Ferry House
"We are pleased to announce we have recently offered posts to three new crew members, who we looked forward to welcoming in the near future, and have further interviews scheduled," they stated.
"This positive development, along with our ongoing recruitment efforts, will help us address the staffing challenges we currently face.
"We kindly ask that you are patient with our wonderful crew who are working extended hours to deliver the best service possible across the lake."
