The Mail has begun its campaign to find the best bakery in south Cumbria.
The nomination process has now started for the 'Best Bakery 2024' award, the latest in The Mail's campaigns to promote the best-loved businesses in the region.
We have already unearthed the best chippy, hairdresser and pub according to our readers, meaning it is now time to turn our attention to the home of freshly made bread and exquisite cakes.
Nominate your favourite bakery here
Once again, we at The Mail are relying on our readers to get involved, something which you have done in your droves since we first started these awards.
You can submit your nomination for your favourite bakery by visiting the online platform here.
You will have just one week to make sure that your choice gets the backing it deserves, with the nomination window lasting between Monday, August 19 and Sunday, August 25.
The Mail will then exclusively reveal the ten finalists based on these results on the week commencing Monday, August 26.
By the time next month rolls around, the voting process will kick in, taking place for two weeks between Monday, September 2 and Saturday, September 14.
You will be able to cast your vote by picking up a copy of The Mail across that fortnight.

Joy Yates, Newsquest Cumbria regional editor, said: “Who can resist the delicious smell of bread and baked goods as you walk past some of the wonderful bakeries in our county?
"Whether you’ve a soft spot for pies and pastries, or prefer cakes and cookies, no doubt you have your favourite go-to bakery.
“Now’s the time to show your appreciation and place your nomination in our Best Bakery 2024 promotion - make sure you do so before the closing date of this coming Sunday.”
After the ten finalists have been revealed, The Mail will be running features with each bakery, sharing how the businesses got started and why they deserve your vote.
Keep an eye out for those daily features next month - and get nominating!
