This year, 18 teams will be taking part and prizes will be awarded for categories such as the most innovative kart design and best turned-out soapbox crew.

"The soapbox is a great way to show the best of barrow bringing together both third section organisations and local business to entertain and thrill the town."

Organisations that aren't competing in the race have also found a way to take part by showcasing their support through their creativity.
