"These results are about our students taking the next steps in their lives and I am pleased that they will be going on to study a range of courses at university and onto high quality apprenticeships.

"I wish all of our students every success in the future and thank the teachers for the support they have given to our students to help them achieve so well.”

He said: "A number of students have performed particularly well. However, I should like to recognise in particular the achievements of Molly Little, Aurelia Simpson and Heidi Haine, who achieved excellent grades. Students have secured places to study Medicine, Architecture, Archaeology, Environmental Science and Film.
