An opticians is set to move down the street following a £750,000 relocation and makeover.
Specsavers in Barrow will open the doors to its new premises on Saturday, August 17.
The new store, at 174 Dalton Road, will have two additional optical consulting rooms, a new hearcare soundproof room, and two hospital-grade Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) machines.
Specsavers Barrow has been serving the community for 31 years, with the store's ophthalmic director, Julie Dixon, having been with store since it first opened.
Andrea Wood, store manager at Specsavers Barrow-in-Furness, said: "The entire team are extremely excited about our relocation, as we’ve been waiting for the perfect premises to become available and it finally did.
"We’re delighted that we are now going to have all our facilities and testing rooms located on one floor, making them much more accessible and it will allow us to provide care and support to more people in the community.
"We love taking care of the residents of Barrow, but we wanted to do more and with the space in our old store being split across three different floors, that simply wasn’t possible.
"With this new store, we can do so much more and see many more customers each week."
The Specsavers team has welcomed new recruits in preparation for the move, and now comprises eight directors and managers, 23 optical assistants, and an audiologist.
The grand opening event will take place on Tuesday, August 20, with store directors Julie Dixon, Simon Lefever, and Graham Procter cutting the ribbon.
The opening will also feature balloons and cupcakes from a local supplier.
Specsavers Barrow closed the doors of the old store on Monday, August 12.
