PUB bosses have apologised after 'mixed reviews' from customers.
Crofters in Barrow issued an apology on its Facebook page to those who have had a 'negative experience' while visiting the establishment in the past week.
A spokesperson for the team explained due to some of their permanent kitchen team needing to take some leave to see the family they decided to hire an agency chef instead of closing the kitchen.
"Unfortunately, the agency chef provided was not trained to the same standards our customers would normally expect," said the spokesman.
"We can confirm our permanent kitchen team is now back and delivering the same excellent food as before.
"Once again we sincerely apologise, and hope to see you all in Crofters again soon!"
Reacting to the post, one customer said they 'wished' that it had been explained to them.
"There was a lot of food on the menu that was unavailable, it took us three attempts to order because everything we asked for had run out," said the pub-goer.
"But this clarification post is good from a business point of view. Unfortunately we are still £124 out of pocket for food we hardly touched, which is a lot of money in these times."
Another unhappy client said: "Wish we had been told this when we visited about two weeks ago it really did put us off coming back not just food but the wait also if things had been explained at the time then we would know that this wasn't what to expect from Crofters."
Another said 'well done' for the pub in 'admitting and apologising'.

It added: "I hope this does not affect your business... people love Crofters and would moan if you closed.
"Those affected will get over and move on... I think this status shows guts that you engaged and offered apologies and hopefully those affected will give another go. I will x."
