Cumbria police has re-assured residents after what was believed to be a firearms incident in Barrow.
Residents in Holker Street and Chatsworth Street were alarmed after a heavy police presence at a property on Wednesday (August 7).
An officer was then reported to have removed what looked like a shotgun from the home.

The force has now confirmed this was a child's toy gun and there is no immediate danger to the public.
A spokesperson from Cumbria police said: "Police were called to an address on Chatsworth Street in Barrow shortly before 10:40pm on 7 August following a report of a man holding what appeared to be a potential firearm.
"Officers were deployed to the area and quickly located the man who had a toy gun in his possession.
"The following morning there was another public order incident which resulted the man being detained.
"He has been detained under the Mental Health Act."
