TALENTED youngsters stole the show at Barrow Rotary Club's annual crown green bowls competition to raise money for worthy causes in the community.
The event was held at the Co-op Sports and Social Club green on Dane Avenue in Barrow on Sunday July 28.
With an entry of 32 competitors, there was some ‘excellent and tight bowling’ with some ‘surprises’ in the early rounds.
The final was a tight affair between the two youngest players- 17-year-old Sam Brannan and 29-year-old Adam Miller.
The lead changed on several occasions before Adam finally claimed the win.
After presenting the winning competitors with their prize money, Barrow Rotary Club president Alf Hadley thanked the Co-op Social club for the use of their facilities.
He also thanked competition sponsors Charnley’s Home and Garden Centre, Urswick Engineering, Cumbria Car Centre and Dave Pedley of the Coop Social Club.
It was announced that the proceeds would go into the Rotary Club's charity account before being donated to charitable organisations seeking financial help.
The event raised £300.
