The Barrow Male Voice Choir's 2024 annual concert will kick off next week.

Scheduled for August 16, the popular event will start at 7.30pm at the Baptist Church on Abbey Road.

Tickets are available from choir members or at the door.

The evening's programme boasts popular favourites such as Billy Joel's "And So It Goes" and "Stormy Weather" from the 1930s.

Musical theatre lovers will enjoy renditions of "Bring Him Home" from "Les Misérables" and "Get Me To The Church On Time" from "My Fair Lady".

Traditional music lovers will not be left out as interpretations of "What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor?" and the iconic Welsh tune "Watching the Wheat" are also part of the event.

The choir, under musical director Deborah Milledge, will be accompanied by Margaret Harrison and Zina Preston.

This year's guest solo artist is soprano Ciara Preston Myakicheff, partnered by concert pianist Pascal Pascaleff.

Myakicheff, no stranger to the Barrow audience, has recently completed her post-graduate vocal studies at the Birmingham Conservatoire.

Those attending can also participate in a raffle with a variety of prizes on offer.
