A PENSIONER has lost his licence after he was caught drink driving in Ulverston.
Andrew Watson was driving his Mini Cooper on the A590 on July 15 this year when he was stopped by road traffic officers on mobile patrol.
Court documents show Watson, of Lorne Road, Barrow, fully complied with the officers when they asked him to conduct a roadside breath test for analysis after they had reason to believe the defendant had been driving illegally.
South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court heard the 65-year-old was arrested and taken into police custody where he provided a lowest reading of 93 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Magistrates ordered Watson to complete 100 hours of unpaid work as part of a 12-month community order.
He was also disqualified from driving for 28 months.
