Four areas in Barrow have been highlighted as 'violence hotspots' by the police.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), Cumbria Police and the Crime Commissioner have secured £1million worth of extra funding to support Operation Enhance.
This will see extra patrols conducted across 18 areas in south Cumbria, focusing on the county's likeliest locations for anti-social behaviour as identified by statistical analysis.

The likes of Ulverston town centre, Bowness-on-Windermere and Kendal will be monitored by these patrols, along with four parts of Barrow.
These are Hindpool, Salthouse, Barrow Island and the town centre.
Operation Enhance will see officers targeting 'all types of anti-social behaviour which blight communities', from youths carrying out criminal damage to shutting down drug dealing operations.
These high visibility patrols will also target those who commit serious violence in these areas – including arson, robbery and sexual assault - to 'ensure the safety' of local communities.
