A DALTON man has been ordered to complete a community order after he admitted to assaulting and harassing a female.
Craig Palmer, of Tudor Square, pleaded guilty to charges of assault by beating on September 27 2023 and harassment without violence between October 17 – November 13 2023 in Askam-in-Furness at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on June 26 this year.
Palmer sent a ‘barrage of unwanted emails and WhatsApp messages’ as well as driving past and opposite the victim’s house on occasions.
The 35-year-old received a 12-month community order with requirements to complete 15 rehabilitation requirement days and 250 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £114 surcharge.
Magistrates also imposed a restraining order for Palmer not to approach or contact the victim directly or indirectly by any means except by way of a solicitor for child access.
