A new series of free football sessions has arrived in Barrow this month for younger people in the area.

Westmorland and Furness Council is working alongside Barrow Park Leisure Centre and the Furness Youth Work Partnership to run the sessions that will run until Sunday, September 1.

The 'Turn Up and Play Football' project is taking place Barrow Astro Turf Pitches (ATP) in Barrow Park for people up to 18 years old.

The hope is that this can provide a form of entertainment and an outlet for kids whilst school is away, as well as helping parents by ensuring there is no charge for access to the group.

The pitches will be open from 5pm to 9pm weekdays - excluding the Bank Holiday on Monday, August 26 - and from 12pm to 5pm on weekends.

There is no need to book beforehand, with footballs and bibs provided to all those who get involved.
