A WINDERMERE man has been ordered to pay over £1,000 after he admitted his actions had caused another male harassment, alarm or distress.

Thomas Walker, of Orrest Drive, pleaded guilty to racially / religiously aggravated intentional harassment by use of words / writing when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on July 22.

The offence was committed contrary to the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 on February 16 this year in Windermere.

Magistrates fined Walker £730 because of the defendant’s ‘racially aggravated hostility to the victim’.

He was also ordered to pay a £292 surcharge and £85 in court costs in full by September 16.
