Comedian Ed Byrne is set to perform in Millom this September as part of a new tour.

Known for his appearances on numerous TV shows like 'QI', 'Mock the Week', and 'Have I Got News For You', Mr Byrne will host his latest show 'Tragedy Plus Time' at Beggars Theatre on Saturday, September 7.

This show, said to be his most personal yet, is part of an extended nationwide tour which will continue until December this year.

The title Tragedy Plus Time is from Mark Twain's quote, humour is defined as tragedy plus time.

With his TV career spanning over three decades, Mr Byrne is also known as an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for factual broadcasting, presenting shows such as BBC Two programmes 'Volcano Live' and 'Into The Wild with Gordon Buchanan'.

Mr Byrne has also featured in competition shows like BBC One’s 'Celebrity Best Home Cook' and has emerged victorious in celebrity editions of 'The Chase' and 'Pointless'.

With large fan followings both in the UK and overseas, the comedian remains a prominent figure in observational stand-up comedy.
