A new art project in south Cumbria is hoping to bring the community together through the power of origami.
Organised by St Mary's Hospice of Ulverston, the eventual exhibition will make its debut on Friday, October 11.
The star of this display will be a collection of 1000 paper cranes, all hand made by members of the public in a series of workshops being hosted over the coming months.

The idea follows the Japanese legend of senbazuru, which claims that the folding of 1000 cranes can grant a wish or bring good fortune to the people involved.
The hospice hopes that the art installation can inspire 'unity and positivity' across the community, with so many people coming together to make it a reality.
