ENGLAND football hero Georgia Stanway took photos with a business that has sponsored her since she was a youth player during a return to Furness.
Stanway, who was part of the squad that won the women's Euros in 2022 and got to the final of the World Cup 2023, lived in Askam until she moved away at 16 to join the youth academy at Blackburn Rovers. From a young age, she was sponsored by Barrow car dealership Matt Johnson Prestige.
After a stint at Manchester City, the 25-year-old now plays for Bayern Munich.
Sharing the photos with her 445,000 followers on Instagram, the midfielder said: "Forever grateful to be represented by @mattjohnsonprestige , so good to see you whenever I’m home! Proud of both our journeys."
In 2022 she filmed a documentary with Matt Johnson Prestige describing her journey into the top flight of women's football.
Mr Johnson said in the documentary, called Roots, that he had helped Georgia pass her test.
"She, like me, is proud of her roots hence the name of the documentary," he said.
