A NATIONAL supermarket chain has given an update on when a store in Ulverston will reopen.
The Market Street store is undertaking a programme of works and improvements to enhance and transform the store.
The seven week programme of works will see a fresh new look and layout, new refrigeration and improvements to the back of shop to with the aim of enabling the store team to better serve the community.
The store is expected to re-launch on 5 September.
A spokesperson for Co-op said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to invest in our store in Market Street, Ulverston, to enhance and improve our store for the community. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during our temporary closure, and look forward to welcoming our member-owners and customers back into their Market Street Co-op when it re-launches.
"Our Ulverston stores aim to operate at the heart of local life, and offer the range, choice and added services to create a really compelling offer to serve and support our community, conveniently.”
The nearest other Co-op store is on Priory Road.
