A RESCUE team received a late-night callout after a walker injured her knee near a waterfall.

Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team got a late night call at 11.47pm on Tuesday (July 23) from North West Ambulance Service about a woman who had fallen and injured their knee at Ritson's Force, near Wasdale Head.

The team was called out quickly for the walk-in to the casualty.

When on scene, the casualty was assessed and treated before being packaged into the stretcher for the carry to the Wasdale Head Inn.

A spokesperson for the team said: "She was then transferred to the hospital by land ambulance.

"The team returned to base to reset the vehicles before heading home for a curtailed night’s sleep. We wish the casualty a swift recovery from her injuries."

The rescue took 3 hours and 41 minutes to be completed and 17 team members.
