The fundraising total has been revealed after a young girl performed in Barrow town centre for a local hospice.

Grace Shimmin, aged nine, wowed crowds at Portland Walk with her singing on July 13 in the hope of raising money for St Mary's.

The Dane Ghyll Community School and Nursery pupil prepared her own eight-song set, including tracks from Adele, Amy Winehouse and Lewis Capaldi.

On Thursday, July 25, the hospice revealed that, thanks to Grace's performance, £648 has been donated to the local charity.

A spokesperson from St Mary's said: "Your beautiful voice and generous heart have made a significant impact.

"Thank you, Grace, for your dedication and support - we're truly blessed to have such a kind and caring community, without you we wouldn't be here today."
