Summer took its sweet time, but it appears it has finally arrived.
As forecasters flirt with the idea of a heatwave, the thought of going for a swim in the sunshine is now more appealing than ever.
But where? Well, funnily enough, local swimming pools aren't just for countries like Spain.

In the 1930s, 169 pools and lidos were built across the country and although this number later diminished, there are still some survivors.
With that in mind, The Telegraph has listed the top 20 outdoor swimming pools in the UK today and saved a special mention for one in Cumbria.
Shap Swimming Pool, Cumbria
The Telegraph said: "At just under 1,000ft above sea level, Shap Swimming Pool in the Lake District is reputedly the highest heated outdoor pool in the country.
"The site is entirely run by volunteers and consists of a 16.5-metre heated pool, a new paddling pool for toddlers plus a small shop.
"Note the pool is open from May and closes in early September."

Shap Swimming Pool
Their website states: "At over 900ft above sea level, Shap Swimming Pool is England’s highest open-air heated pool.
"Our fully enclosed pool is 16.5 metres long, 1.5 metres at the deep end and is heated. Please be aware that as an outdoor pool, the water can feel a little cooler if it’s windy or the sun isn’t shining! We also have a toddler splash pool which is warm enough for little ones.
"We have small shop that sells drinks and snacks. A qualified lifeguard is on duty at all times."
