A business in Millom has chosen to help a newly formed charity by opening its doors for free.

The Vapour Bar on St George's Road is acting as the new weekly base for the Millom and Around the Combe Community Group (MACCG).

There, every Tuesday, members of the charity will be handing out surplus food to support people in the local area, a particularly pressing problem according to the MACCG now that schools have closed and families have more mouths to feed.

A spokesperson from the group commented: "A massive thank you to the management of The Vapour Bar in Millom for their very kind offer of their rear meeting room for us without charge, on a weekly basis to enable us to do this.

"It means a great deal, it also means that once again we are partnering with a small local business within our town for the benefit of the community."
