A new monthly group in Barrow is aiming to look out for vulnerable people living in the area.

Organised by St Mary's Hospice, the Furness Dementia Hub will take place on the fourth Wednesday of every month, with the first sessions held on July 24.

A spokesperson from the hospice explained: "The hub provides a welcoming space to access advice and support from a wide variety of organizations.

"Whether you are living with dementia, supporting a loved one, or seeking more information, our dedicated team is here to help."

The group will include information from Furness Dementia Partnership, outlining the services they provide, as well as free taster therapy sessions.

There will also be details readily available about the Herbert Protocol, which is a document designed to help the police and other agencies locate a vulnerable person who has gone missing.

If interested, the sessions run between 1pm and 3pm at St Mary's Community Hub on Duke Street.
