VISITING on a ward at Barrow's hospital is still suspended following a norovirus outbreak.

Hospital bosses said the outbreak at Furness General's Ward 6 was affecting patients and staff.

Posting on social media on Tuesday, the trust said: "Please be aware that visiting on Ward 6 at Furness General Hospital continues to be suspended for a further 48 hours due to a norovirus outbreak affecting patients & staff.

"Relatives of patients are being contacted directly.

"We will share an update as soon as possible, thank you for your patience during this time."
