A ‘beacon of lively entertainment’ in Barrow town centre is looking for new owners.
The Knights Sports Bar on Dalkeith Street has been put on the market with an asking price of £359,995.
The current owner Veerendrashyam Venkatpuram said he had decided to sell both the business and the building.
He purchased the building in 2019 and undertook an extensive refurbishment, spending around £250,000 on revamping the building.
The space reopened as a sports bar in November 2021.
Mr Venkatpuram lives in Derby and has taken on a further two establishments closer to home since opening the Knights.
He said the travel is too much and he is selling to focus on his other businesses.
It is being sold with Bolton-based business brokering company CoGoGo, who described the bar as a 'vibrant' hub of entertainment nestled on a 'bustling' street in the heart of Barrow.
The ground floor pub and bar area, which is currently home to six screens, where punters can watch live sports matches.
There is a function room on the first floor and a four-bedroom apartment, an ideal owner’s accommodation, on the second floor.
The business’s total generated turnover is listed as £620,000, said the listing.
It was previously owned by Five (UK) Ltd which went into voluntary liquidation in March 2019..
Five (UK) was set up in 2005 and during its operation was the company behind Circus Circus, Bar Five/The Nines, The Knights, and latterly The Derby.
CoGoGo said: “From its inviting ambiance to its stellar service, this establishment embodies the essence of camaraderie and relaxation.
“As you step through the doors of The Knights, you're greeted by the lively chatter of patrons. The décor exudes a timeless charm, with rich wooden accents, and strategically placed screens broadcasting the latest sporting events.
“Whether you're a fervent sports enthusiast or simply seeking a convivial atmosphere to unwind, The Knights promises an experience to remember.”
The sales site said that while it is already a ‘thriving hotspot’, there is boundless potential for growth and expansion.
