TWO people were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the A590.
Police were called at 5:55pm to a two vehicle collision near Newby Bridge involving a Seat Ibiza and a Mercedes.
The driver of the Mercedes was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Seat was also taken to hospital via air ambulance with serious injuries. Police described their condition as as critical but stable.
The road was closed for a number of hours and reopened just after midnight.
