A national issue with computer systems is affecting the Northwest of England, including GP surgeries across Barrow.

Here is a list of all the Doctor’s Offices that have reported problems this morning.

Bridgegate Medical Centre said: “Please be aware there is a national issue with the computer systems, and we are unable to access the appointments book or patient’s records. if it is not urgent, please try us later or call 111 in case of any emergencies call 999.”

 

Atkinson Health Centre GP Surgery issued a message on their social media that reads: “IMPORTANT.

“Unfortunately, our computer system is down this morning, our IT company is working on this as a matter of urgency but until it is fixed, we are unable to access our clinical records systems. Please bear with us during this time and we apologise for any inconvenience.”

 

Norwood Medical Centre said: “Please be aware there is a national issue with the computer system therefore we are currently unable to access the appointment book please be patient with us and if possible, try later. As always if medical emergency please dial 999.”

 

Duke Street Surgery said: “Unfortunately we are experiencing computer issues at present. Please don’t call the surgery as we are unable to book any appointments or access your medical record. Sorry for any inconvenience caused, we will keep you updated.”

 

Abbey Road Surgery issued a message on their social media that reads:

“!!!!!  IMPORTANT  !!!!!

“National Computer issue

“We expect a further update regarding the computer system at 10.30am. Please can we ask that you do not call the surgery to make an appointment as we do not have access to any patient records. Patients with booked appointments please attend as normal.

“Thankyou.”

 

 

Risedale Surgery said: “Please be advised that our computers and phones are not working, and it is affecting all GP practices in the building - we will update you once our IT dept has resolved this problem.”

 

Market Street Medical Practice in Dalton said: “All computers are down this morning this is a national problem, please bear with us, we will keep you up to date as much as possible.”

 

Waterloo House Surgery issued a message on their social media that reads:

“URGENT - SYSTEM DOWN

“Our medical system EMIS is currently down, this is a national problem but means that we are unable to book any appointments.

“Please do not call the surgery for an appointment until you receive a message to say the system is back up as we are not able to book any appointments.

“If you have a medical problem that can’t wait, please call 111.”

 

Duddon Valley Medical Practice at Kirkby-in-Furness said: "Our computers are down this morning meaning we cannot access any clinical information.

"Please bare with us if you are calling to book an appointment."

They issued an update saying: "We are still experiencing major problems with our computers. This is a national issue.

"We have had reports from patients that online ordering of prescriptions is not working either. Please try again later.

"Thank you."
