Jack Rhodes, a local star after appearing on Britain's Got Talent, is hoping to use his new found fame to support a charity event.

The magician, who came second in the latest series of the reality TV show, will be entertaining crowds at St Mary's Hospice's 'Walk to Remember' on Friday, September 6.

This ten-mile walk will see people start at Ulverston Leisure Centre before making their way to the finish line at Furness Academy.

Jack said: "I am buzzing to announce that I'm going to be making a special appearance in my hometown.

"I'm going to be doing a little bit of magic on stage before the walk starts."

This is not the first time that Jack has supported the event having performed back in 2019 to lend his talents to St Mary's fundraising efforts.

"I did this a few years ago - I remember seeing a picture afterwards and I didn't realise how embarrassingly tight my pants were, so I'll be wearing more appropriate pants this time round," he joked.

"Everybody come along, support a worthy cause, they do amazing stuff, St Mary's Hospice, and I'll see you there."

Back in May, the hospice shared a good luck message to Jack ahead of his final showdown on Britain's Got Talent, hoping to get him back for the annual fundraiser.

Now that he has got onboard, St Mary's has once again thanked the entertainer for his support.

A spokesperson said: "Walk to Remember regulars will know this isn't the first time Jack has entertained us - we knew him before he was famous - but we're super stoked to have been able to make him reappear before your very eyes, fresh from finishing runner-up on Britain's Got Talent.

"All you have to do is sign up to do the walk, and with numbers already breaking all records, you'd better grab your spot before they vanish."

With 80% of spots for the walk already being taken, you can sign up by visiting the website or by calling 01229 580305.
