People in Barrow are putting themselves up to be 'gunged' to raise money for two charities.

Eight members of the Barrow BID team are looking to bring in donations for the Mayor's Charities, which are Every Life Matters and Stitch Ability.

The two people who raise the most money through their collection boxes will be thrown into a vat of goo on Thursday, August 29 in the town centre.

To make a donation, you can visit the Barrow BID team at their office in Furness House on Duke Street.

You can also make your contribution online by using the form here.

Those at risk of being gunged, including BID manager Paul Hodgson and local business owner Jenny Fazackerley, will be out and about with their collection boxes over the ensuing weeks to encourage even more donations.
