The ten finalists for The Mail's 'Best Pub 2024' award can now be revealed.
At the start of the month, we launched the inaugural award to find the best establishment that Furness has to offer.
From then, our readers have been nominating their favourites to get them to the next stage of voting.
Thanks to your support, we saw roughly 1,000 nominations get submitted, making it the most hotly backed campaign since we started with the 'Best Chippy 2024' earlier this year.
Your final ten nominees are:
-
The Bridge Inn, Bankside, Dalton-in-Furness.
-
Crofters, Holbeck Park Avenue, Roose, Barrow-in-Furness.
-
Gather Beers, 7 Market Street, Ulverston.
-
The Rose and Crown, 22 King Street, Ulverston.
-
The Clarence Pub, 33 Ulverston Road, Dalton-in-Furness.
-
The Devonshire, Buxton Street, Barrow-in-Furness.
-
The Golden Ball, 15 Tudor Square, Dalton-in-Furness.
-
The Harbour Inn, The Strand, Barrow-in-Furness.
-
The Old Friends Inn, 49 Soutergate, Ulverston.
-
The Red Lion, 5 Market Street, Dalton-in-Furness.
It is now once again down to our readers to whittle this top 10 to one ultimate champion as these pubs look to be named as the best in the area.
Voting will commence from Monday, July 22 and you will have up until Saturday, August 3 to make your voice heard.
To cast your vote, all you have to do is pick up a print copy of The Mail between these dates, where the submission slip will be waiting for you.
From Monday, we will be beginning our deep dive into all of the ten pubs listed.
Every day for the next two weeks, one of the pubs will star in its own special feature, exploring their humble origins, shining a light on the teams who manage them, and asking them why they should get your vote.
Do not forget to support your favourite pub before it is too late, and look out for all the features that will be coming soon.
