Georgia Stanway and her England teammates will look to defend their title after making it to Euro 2025.
The Lionesses secured automatic qualification to next year's tournament following a nervy 0-0 draw against Sweden on Tuesday night.
With only two teams from their qualification group securing a spot at the Euros and the others forced to navigate the play-offs, it meant the game at Gamla Ullevi was always destined to be a tense affair.
England came into the match knowing that anything other than defeat would see them through, with Sweden having to win to take that spot from the Lionesses.
It was Stanway who represented England's biggest threat in what was a rather drab first half contest.
The Bayern Munich midfielder's cross was narrowly missed by teammate Alessia Russo, before a fizzing shot from Stanway was sent just wide of the post.
With the pressure on the hosts to find a winner, it was Sweden who pressed more forcibly in the second half.
When the sides last met, it resulted in a 1-1 draw at Wembley in April, which meant England were already aware of the stern test the Swedes would pose.
However, whilst there were a few anxious moments in the England box, they managed to remain unscathed to make it to the final whistle.
The Lionesses will now look towards Switzerland after finishing second in League A3, a tough group that included two other nations from the world’s top six.
But celebrations were still muted at full time, perhaps in response to the sense of missed opportunity that came with the draw.
With France losing 3-1 away at the Republic of Ireland, victory would have secured England top spot and a more favourable seeding for Euro 2025.
They will find out their group stage opponents in the draw on Monday, 16 December at 5pm.
