A TOWN council has had 'numerous complaints' of dog fouling near a cenotaph.

Millom Town Council used its social media to urge dog owners to clean up after their pets.

This follows numerous complaints from the staff and volunteers regarding the amount of dog muck on the grass and stone areas of the Millom Cenotaph.

A spokesperson said CCTV of the area will be looked at and the culprits will be identified and fined if this continues.

It said: "Millom Town Council are committed to keeping this area looking nice for the entrance to the town.

"Please be respectful and bag it, there are bins available in this area to put it in."
