A HOTEL has managed to raise thousands of funds for local charities through the power of hot drinks.
Holiday Inn in Barrow started Coffee Club in 2021 where each drink sold sees 20p go to charity - with half going to the St Mary's Hospice and the other half going into a community pot.
With the donations, they have been able to sponsor medals for the Ulverston Fell Race, arrange thank-you gifts for Vision Support Barrow and District and donate food to the Furness Hedgehog Rescue.
This year they have raised more than £3,000 for the Ulverston-based hospice.
Jenna Strickland Sales Manager of Holiday Inn Barrow said: "We don't want tunnel vision, we understand that the community in Barrow is huge and we want to reach as many people as possible and try to help as many people as possible with the money we have - we are going to alternate it.
"We are doing little things to carry on helping the community. It doesn't all have to be about the money we just want people to reach out and let us know as a corporate industry business how we can support and help them."
