A stunning hotel in the heart of the Lake District is looking for new owners.
Victorian House Hotel in Grasmere has been newly advertised by the UK's leading licensed estate agents and leisure property experts at Colliers.
The luxury bed and breakfast at Broadgate, Ambleside, enjoys a riverside position with glorious fell views.
It is surrounded by quaint local shops, galleries and museums, as well as action-packed adventure days, fine dining restaurants and cosy pubs.
The hotel is currently owned by Serena Von Der Heyde, who purchased the property in 2020.
Ms Heyde also runs a London boutique, called the Georgian House Hotel, which was built by her great, great-grandfather and established in 1851.
Previously known as the Oak Bank Hotel, the property was bought from Glynis and Simon Wood, who owned and operated the business for 12 years prior.
After acquiring the hotel, Ms Heyde embarked on a huge refurbishment programme.
The 20-bedroom establishment was then relaunched as the Victorian House Hotel in February 2020.
For this property bursting with 'immense charm and character', Colliers lists an asking price of £1,875,000.
The hotel offers a range of ‘quality’ accommodation from ‘Stargazer Rooms’ to ‘Dog Friendly Rooms'.
The Garden Room opens for breakfast so guests can take in the views and watch the flow of the river while they eat.
Victoria House Hotel also has The Shepherd’s Hut, a charming, secluded retreat beside the banks of the River Rothay.
The hotel is advertised for sale with ample car parking and complimented by welcoming, landscaped gardens.
Letting agent, Haydn Spedding described Victoria House as a 'smashing' place and an outstanding purchase.
He said Ms Heyde has chosen to step away from the hotel to focus on her family, her husband and four children.
Mr Spedding said she has done a brilliant job on this 'gem' of a hotel, refurbishing it to an extremely high standard.
The hotel has recovered nicely following the implications of the Covid-19 Pandemic and subsequent Lockdowns, reporting a net turnover of £485,838.
