A PUB has been served a new food hygiene rating from inspectors.

The Ferry, on the Promenade on Walney, was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment.

Inspectors rated the business on June 6, the Food Hygiene Rating website shows.

This means that The Ferry has a 'Good' food hygiene rating.

The hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was found to be in a 'Good' standard. 

Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene was found to be 'Generally Satisfactory'.

The management of food safety which verifies whether systems or checks are in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in the future was found to be 'Very Good'.
